A beach town that actually delivers
La Concha beach is something else - the curve of the bay, the clear water, the whole setting is just stunning. The city around it is clean, easy to walk, and the food scene is unreal. Pintxos bars on every corner and each one is better than the last.
Best food trip I've done in years
Came purely for the food and left completely satisfied. The Parte Vieja is packed with pintxos bars and you could easily spend three nights just working your way through them. Gilda skewers, stuffed peppers, grilled mushrooms - all incredible. The quality for the price is just ridiculous.
Perfect city break with the family
We had kids with us and it still worked brilliantly. The beaches are safe and calm, the old town is walkable and fun to explore, and there's always something to eat nearby. Zurriola beach was great for the older kids who wanted a bit more wave action.
San Sebastian totally won me over
I wasn't expecting much from a quick weekend stop but this city really got me. Monte Urgull gives you these incredible views over the whole bay and it's free to walk up. The old town below is full of character. Food, scenery, people - all top notch.
Surf and great food - what more do you need
Came for the surf at Zurriola and stayed for everything else. The waves were fun and the beach crowd was cool and relaxed. After sessions in the water we'd head into town for pintxos and cold txakoli wine. That combo alone makes it worth the trip.
Quiet, beautiful, and seriously good eating
Visited in December and the city was calm and easy to enjoy without big crowds. The Kursaal area looks great at night and the old quarter still buzzes with locals in the pintxos bars. Bacalao al pil pil at a small restaurant on Calle 31 de Agosto was one of the best things I ate all year.
